Basically, Alice Waters is a well-known chef from Berkeley, California who has been credited with single-handedly creating an American culinary movement based around eating fresh, locally-grown, seasonal foods. The funny part is that she is SO into locally-grown, seasonal foods that she is totally unaware of buffalo chicken wings, a snack/bar food popular around the US that is in some sense the antithesis of Waters' so-called "California Cuisine" since it is basically pieces of chicken slathered in decidedly non-local, non-organic, non-seasonal sauce.
