Score for recent conference:

Mistaken for an assistant professor: 1

Mistaken for a senior grad student, and encouraged to send in my CV for a potential postdoc position: 1

  1. When I was a 2nd year grad student I kept getting mistaken for a first year undergraduate student. By the time the third fresher tried to become my ‘new best friend’ and see which courses we were doing together, I hid in the office for three days. It didn’t help when I was teaching in their lab classes a couple of days later - tee hee hee!
